Handling export-controlled aerospace work.

Much of the aerospace structures work RMD supports — high-performance target systems, airframe design data, structural analysis, and composite inspection procedures — is regulated as defense articles or technical data under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR §§ 120–130) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This section exists so prospective clients know, up front, how RMD approaches that work.
Work is performed by a U.S. person (as defined in 22 CFR § 120.62) with 35+ years of NAVAIR service, including flight-clearance authority for Navy target systems.
Controlled technical data is exchanged only through client-approved secure channels. RMD does not accept ITAR data by unencrypted email or public file-sharing.
No release of controlled technical data to foreign persons without a written client authorization and, where required, a valid State Department license or exemption.
Please indicate on first contact whether the engagement involves ITAR/EAR-controlled data so a mutual NDA and transfer method can be agreed before any technical exchange.
This overview is informational and does not constitute legal advice. Clients remain responsible for their own export-control determinations and licensing.
