The paradigm shift

From assumption-driven engineering to evidence-backed structures.

Every recommendation is anchored in analysis, testing, and documentation you can hand to a program office, an auditor, or a certifying authority.

How we work

A three-phase engagement that maps to program milestones.

Phase 01

Scope & discovery

We define objectives, review drawings and load cases, and identify the engineering questions that actually drive the program.

Phase 02

Analyze, test, document

Structural analysis, coupon-to-component testing, and materials characterization — each backed by a documented test plan.

Phase 03

Report & review

Analytical reports, feasibility packages, and milestone technical reviews you can bring to program leadership.

The founder

Three decades in Navy high-performance target systems.

RMD is led by a California-licensed Professional Engineer (M29766) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering (Cal State Fresno, 1988) and an MS in Applied Mechanics (CSU Northridge, 2006). Over 35 years at NAVAIR included service as airframe structural technical lead and flight clearance authority for Department of Navy subsonic and supersonic high-performance target systems.

What kinds of programs does RMD support?+

Airframe structures work for aerospace platforms, with particular depth in high-performance unmanned and target systems. Typical engagements involve structural design, analysis, testing, materials selection, and composite inspection & repair.

Do you cover both metallic and composite structures?+

Yes. RMD supports metallic and non-metallic material selection and property testing, as well as composite airframe non-destructive inspection and repair.

Can you handle static and dynamic structural testing?+

Both. Test plans, instrumentation strategy, execution support, and analytical reporting are part of the practice.

What deliverables should I expect?+

Test plans, analytical reports, feasibility studies, project status reports, and program milestone technical review packages — written for both engineering and program audiences.

How do engagements typically start?+

A short scoping conversation to understand the program, the structural or materials questions in play, and where an outside expert can add the most leverage.

Where are you located and who can you work with?+

Based in California and available to U.S. aerospace clients. Reach out to discuss fit, scope, and next steps.
